The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce has hired Pavitra Ciavardone as program director of its workforce development program, CareerEdge Funders Collaborative.
The mission of CareerEdge is to provide an exceptional labor force to the region’s growing industries by leveraging community assets and forming high-performing workforce partnerships. One of the biggest challenges our local businesses face is attracting, retaining and developing talent.
CareerEdge’s training programs are employer-led and demand-driven. Its innovative funding model enhances the regional workforce by way of employer-based upskilling workers grants, and wage reimbursement opportunities for internships and on-the-job training.
Ciavardone has decades of experience that includes executive coaching and training, program development, fundraising and community relations. For the past four years, she has successfully developed strong business and nonprofit partnerships for Goodwill Manasota, while spearheading its community engagement and development efforts.
She was formerly a health care professional and wellness consultant for SHAPE Magazine.
Nicole Taylor has joined the Tidewell Foundation, in Sarasota, as a philanthropy adviser. In her new role, she will connect the Charlotte County community with opportunities to support the foundation’s not-for-profit mission to ensure more people receive the compassionate care they need.
Taylor has more than 10 years of nonprofit experience, specializing in both health and human services. Most recently, she served as the development and donor relations manager for JFCS of the Suncoast.
Before that, she was director of development for Mental Health America of Dutchess County and the assistant director for Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley, located in upstate New York.
